Đèn bỗng vụt tắt, mọi thứ ngập chìm trong bóng tối. Hắn cố gắng kìm nén không quẳng luôn tách cà phê vào màn hình laptop. Thế là thôi, bye bye LeeChunKute vừa mới quen tức thì.
Hắn nhấp một ngụm rồi ngước lên nhìn quanh căn phòng lặng ngắt. Vài người khách vẫn ngửa đầu phun phì phèo vài làn khói. Một “thằng” bên trái hắn đang cầm cuốn sách thật dày, vẫn đọc say sưa chả biết trời trăng thế nào. Một ông cụ không hiểu vào quán café này làm gì, vẫn ngồi trầm ngâm nhìn cái phen nhỏ từng giọt buồn vô tận. Một cô gái ngồi cạnh cửa sổ, mắt đang nhìn lên cao xa xăm như chờ ai.
Hắn cúi xuống nhấp thêm một ngụm rồi lại ngước lên, nheo mắt để nhìn xem đấy là do ánh trăng ngoài kia rọi vào hay chính cô đang tỏa sáng. Mái tóc dài hơi xoăn khẽ tung bay, nhẹ nhàng mà đẹp lạ lùng như Galadriel nơi núi rừng Rivendell lấp lánh.
Đã quen nhìn bao cô gái qua tầng tầng lớp lớp của photoshop, giờ ngắm nàng qua mỗi gọng kính làm hắn chẳng biết được thật hay mơ, cũng chẳng dám chớp mắt hay ngó lơ đi vì sợ chỉ thế thôi người ta cũng sẽ biến mất.
Nàng như một cuốn tiểu thuyết đầy màu sắc và tinh hoa, mỗi ngày là từng trang văn trong trẻo và mới mẻ. Còn hắn lúc này, đang nhìn nàng chằm chằm chẳng khác gì một tờ hóa đơn vô tình, cố len lỏi chui vào cuốn sách để rồi nằm đó lạc lõng.
Đèn vụt sáng, màn đêm cùng bao sự mơ màng bỗng tan biến mất, nhẹ nhàng và nhanh chóng như cái chớp mắt giữa buổi chiều thu. Phải mất tới vài giây để hắn nhận ra nàng đang rời khỏi quán. Hắn vơ vội cellphone chạy với theo.
Trăng vẫn lững lờ trên cao, thấp thoáng.

How Many Words in This List That You Know?

How are you doing on your readings in general and more specifically in developing your vocabularies? Recently I started reading a book for my Finance class called The End of Wall Street by Roger Lowenstein. In the very first chapter of the book – a short 6-page prologue, there were many words that I did not know, and I am listing them here: destitute somnolent bulwark scrutinize (to) prick quiescent laudatory salient fervent (adj) frothy parlance umbilical (cord) placate carnage plenitude opiate dictum stupendous I was so surprised to see so many new words in such a small amount of pages! How is this Roger Lowenstein guy? You would think that while reading a finance book, the only words you would stumble upon are technical terms or lingos. Or maybe I am just bad. How many words in the list above that you already know?

It's Hard to Share!

I like to share. It’s not like donating stuffs (it’s good too) but more like… introducing to other people what I find interesting. So actually this post’s title should be: “ It’s Hard to… Introduce ”, but it wouldn’t sound as good. So there you go. Songs, books, movies, games… Whenever I find one interesting I’d love to show it to another person – like a “maven”*, if you know the term, even though I am not as specialized and valuable. It’s pretty much become a hobby of mine. “ Hey, you want to hang out? Origami Extreme - Part 08!!!

The other day, I came to watch some of my friends performing in the play called The Birds, and it was really fun! So I decided to make another Origami collection; this time it’s about birds – small birds which (supposedly) are all nice and peaceful. Anyway, I love things that fly. Talking about Origami, I now find myself avoiding overly-complicated models each of which would take days to complete. Instead, I’d go for fairly simple ones which are fast to make and still look really nice. That’s why I like more and more the models of John Montroll: really efficient.   PART 08: THE LITTLE BIRD   CURLEW by Tom Defoirdt – I had no idea that a curlew was.
