Doraemon!!!

Ngày xưa Doraemon hay lắm, mọi người và tôi ai cũng đọc, cũng mê. Đầu tiên là mẹ tôi vừa đọc tôi nghe vừa đút cháo, thế là tôi phải cố gắng ăn nhanh để còn nghe truyện tiếp (!). Lớn lên một chút, tôi đã có thể tự đọc và ngồi đọc Doraemon suốt ngày – cho đến khi lớn lên lúc nào không hay.
Doraemon là cả một thế giới diệu kì với Nobita suốt ngày bị tụt quần, Doraemon thích ăn “bánh rán” (mà hồi đó tôi thấy rất giống… Chocopie :D), Suka hiền lành dễ thương, Xêkô mỏ nhọn, và Chaien suốt ngày đấm móp mặt người khác. Mà hồi ấy, thấy sao Nobita suốt ngày than thở nghèo nàn thiếu thốn này nọ, mà nhà thì hai tầng lận. Rồi nhà Nobita muôn đời sau vẫn nghèo hơn người ta, mà sao cậu ta lại được gửi mèo máy về để bảo kê trong khi những người còn lại chẳng ai có cả? Bao nhiêu là thắc mắc trong đầu nhưng thôi kệ, Doraemon vẫn là hay nhất. 
Rồi tự nhiên gần đân tôi xem lại Doraemon - lần này bằng tiếng Anh, và ngạc nhiên trước nhiều sự khác biệt. Thực ra Suka tên là Shizu, Sêkô là Suneo, và Chaien thì vẫn là Jaian. Lật lại những trang đầu tiên, tôi phát hiện ra Nobita là một cậu bé rất hiền lành và tốt tính, và ba mẹ của cậu ta là những người tốt bụng và yêu thương Nobita rất nhiều. Nhìn thử khung tranh đầu tiên của Nobita hiền lành xem:


Doraemon lại khác, chẳng thông minh hay tốt tính như tôi vẫn nghĩ, mà là một người háu ăn và hay làm nhiều trò lố. Lúc mới xuất hiện, hắn ăn hết phần bánh của Nobita (cái đĩa bánh kế bên Nobita ở hình trên). Rồi khi dùng chong chóng tre lần đầu, Doraemon cắm vào… mông của Nobita tội nghiệp.


Đương nhiên nếu chỉ có thế thì đời nào Doraemon nổi tiếng. Hình tượng nhân vật được hoàn thiện dần, và Doraemon cũng từ từ thông minh và “bình thường” hơn.
Shizuka (Xuka) thì hay hùa theo đám đông, Suneo (Xêkô) thì lúc đầu miệng chỉ hơi cong lên, dần dần mới dài và nhọn ra. Jaian (Chaien) thì vẫn đấm móp mặt người khác. Ngạc nhiên là ngày xưa tôi rất thích Đêkhi, bây giờ thấy Chaien mới là hay nhất: to cao khỏe mạnh, dũng cảm và “yêu” âm nhạc.
Thật thú vị làm sao, khi mà sao bao nhiêu năm xem lại, perspective của tôi có thể khác biệt với ngày xưa đến thế. Biết đâu 10 năm sau nữa xem lại, tôi lại thấy thêm nhiều điều thú vị khác. Lúc ấy tôi lại viết blog, mọi người nhớ vào comment nhé!

How are you doing on your readings in general and more specifically in developing your vocabularies? Recently I started reading a book for my Finance class called The End of Wall Street by Roger Lowenstein. In the very first chapter of the book – a short 6-page prologue, there were many words that I did not know, and I am listing them here: destitute somnolent bulwark scrutinize (to) prick quiescent laudatory salient fervent (adj) frothy parlance umbilical (cord) placate carnage plenitude opiate dictum stupendous I was so surprised to see so many new words in such a small amount of pages! How is this Roger Lowenstein guy? You would think that while reading a finance book, the only words you would stumble upon are technical terms or lingos. Or maybe I am just bad. How many words in the list above that you already know?

It's Hard to Share!

I like to share. It’s not like donating stuffs (it’s good too) but more like… introducing to other people what I find interesting. So actually this post’s title should be: “ It’s Hard to… Introduce ”, but it wouldn’t sound as good. So there you go. Origami Extreme - Part 08!!!

The other day, I came to watch some of my friends performing in the play called The Birds, and it was really fun! So I decided to make another Origami collection; this time it’s about birds – small birds which (supposedly) are all nice and peaceful. Anyway, I love things that fly. Talking about Origami, I now find myself avoiding overly-complicated models each of which would take days to complete. Instead, I’d go for fairly simple ones which are fast to make and still look really nice.
