I like drawing dragons. Today I am gonna share with you how
I complete a dragon picture. It’s been awhile since the last time I posted
something tutorial-like, so I am pretty exciting. Should be fun. Here we go.
Step 1: Stick
figures!!!
Well, not really “sticks” since dragons are complicated
creatures. Here I am drawing Eastern-style dragons so they are snake-like, and
the shapes must be smooth and leisure.
Step 2: Sketch!
With the lines I made in step 1, now it’s pretty easy to
just play along and sketch the heads, the bodies, and the limbs with a pencil.
The upper right corner is rather empty so I put a thingy there. Not sure what
it will be.
Step 3: Inking
No more questionable parts. No more “gray areas”. It’s all
black and white now, and a typical ball pen will do justice. I have decided to
make the thingy the sun. Here comes the heat!
Step 4: Lineart…
Just another inking step to make the drawings become more
vivid. Then I also sign at the bottom right corner.
Step 5: Shading!
Put in the shades. This time I shade the picture with Adobe
Photoshop CS 5.1.
“Father and Son, 2012” - FINISHED!!!
Nice Work, how do you cover the ink with the white cloud in the bottom left corner? Do you either erase pencil lines or start an new sheet and copy the shapes?
ReplyDeleteAfter inking I scanned to my laptop and erased the unwanted parts using Photoshop. :D
